First Time D.C. Home Buyer Programs 

DC Open Doors Program  DC Housing Finance Agency - Provides affordable 1st trust financing with pre-approved lenders for buyers who want to make DC their primary residence.  This program also provides a down payment loan creating a 100% financing opportunity for those who's credit score is 640 or better. http://www.dchfa.org/DCHFAHome/Homebuyers/tabid/57/Default.aspx

Home Purchase Assistance Program  for D.C or "HPAP" - Provides First Time DC Home Buyers with down payment and closing cost assistance  - http://www.gwul.org/programs/housing/hpap

D.C. Employer-Assisted Housing Program - Provides grants and deferred loans of up to $11,500 to employees of the District of Columbia Government who are first time homebuyers in the District of Columbia. Call 202 777-7006 or www.dhcd.dc.gov

D.C. Metropolitan Police Housing Assistance ProgramProvides a matching down payment amount up to $1,500 ($500 for each $2,500 saved by an employee). The program includes deferred payment loans up to $10,000, ability to keep assigned patrol car during off-duty hours, and income tax credit of $2,000 per year for five years and a sliding-scale, five year property tax credit. DC First Right Purchase Assistance Program  - Provides low and moderate-income District residents and tenant groups with low-interest loans to help them exercise their rights under the District's right of first refusal law. Call 202 442-7200 or www.dhcd.dc.gov

Homestead Tax Rate - for DC Home Buyers, who will occupy their property as their sole residence, you eligible for a Tax Rate reduction called "Homestead" tax rate.  When submitting your application, you must provide a copy of an ID card (driver's license or none driver ID card issued by the DC Government) with the homestead address. Your Voter's Registration card for the voting district where the homestead property is located and finally a copy of the "signature pages" of your most recent D.C. tax returns.
